What MilePal does

Everything a mileage log needs, kept for you as you drive.

Tracks drives automatically

Android tells MilePal when you start driving. It records the drive and sleeps the rest of the time, and Work hours turn tracking off after hours.

One swipe to sort

Swipe right for Business, left for Personal, then tap a purpose or client from your own labels.

Places that sort themselves

Name a client's address once and every drive there arrives as Business with its purpose.

An IRS-ready log

Date, miles, start and end, and business purpose for every drive, with yearly totals and Schedule C lines 43-44, as a PDF or CSV.

Money and receipts

Scan a receipt, track fuel and MPG, import bank and earnings files, and see profit per mile and per hour.

Teams

Owners buy seats for their drivers, each driver sends a monthly report, and drives stay on the driver's phone.

Plans

Free to track. Pro when tax time comes.

Free

$0, and it never runs out

Automatic tracking, Work hours, one vehicle, the whole log, expenses and income added by hand, the basic CSV and the backup file. Tax reports show as a sample. When a trial or plan ends, nothing is deleted and tracking keeps going.

30-day trial

Starts on first launch, no card

Everything except the tax reports: places that sort drives for you, driving modes, Timeline and CSV imports, more vehicles, Calendar, receipt scanning, fuel and MPG, bank and earnings imports, and more than one business. It never turns into a charge.

Pro

$59.99 a year or $9.99 a month

Everything in the trial plus the tax reports: your deduction, the IRS mileage log as a PDF and CSV, Schedule C lines 43-44, reports per client, the car method comparison and Tax time. Covers this tax year and last year; each older year is $19.99.

Team seat

$5 a month or $30 a year per seat

Full Pro on a driver's phone, paid by the team owner, from 1 to 50 seats. Drivers send a monthly report and mark expenses the team pays back; their drives stay on their own phones.

FAQ

Questions

Does MilePal track mileage automatically?

Yes. Once location is allowed all the time and physical activity is on, MilePal starts recording when Android detects driving and saves the drive when you park. You can also start a drive yourself or add one by hand.

What does the IRS require in a mileage log?

IRS Publication 463 asks you to record the mileage for each business use, the total miles for the year and the date you started using the car for business, at or near the time of the trip, along with each trip's business purpose. MilePal records the date, miles, start and end places and purpose of every drive.

What is the IRS mileage rate for 2026?

72.5 cents a mile for business driving from January 1 to June 30, 2026, and 76 cents a mile from July 1, 2026 (IRS IR-2025-128 and IR-2026-29). MilePal applies the right rate to each drive by its date.

Is driving to work deductible?

No. The IRS says you can't deduct commuting no matter how far your home is from your regular place of work. Driving from a regular work location to a temporary one in the same business is business travel. Mark a drive as Commute and it never counts toward your deduction.

How much does MilePal cost?

Tracking and the log are free and never run out. The first 30 days include everything except the tax reports. Pro is $59.99 a year or $9.99 a month, and a team seat is $5 a month or $30 a year.

Where are my drives stored?

On your phone. You don't need an account to use MilePal on your own, and MilePal doesn't upload your drives to its servers; a backup is a file you keep. Google Maps draws the map on a drive's page. Team drivers send only their monthly report to the team.

Can I import past drives?

Yes, from a Google Timeline export or a CSV file. Pro covers this tax year and last year, and each older year's report is $19.99.

Does MilePal work on iPhone?

Not yet. MilePal is an Android app for now.

Is MilePal available in Spanish?

Yes. The whole app, the tax guide and the PDF reports are in Spanish when your phone is set to Spanish.
